Women’s Equality Day occurs every year on August 26 in the United States to mark the adoption of the 19th Amendment in 1920. The 19th Amendment prohibits the states and federal government from denying citizens the right to vote on the basis of sex. The day commemorates the struggles for the right to vote and also the continuing struggles for equality for women throughout society. Join us as we mark the struggles and celebrate the successes of women as they have fought for equality in the U.S.
