Once your students have had a chance to see and work with the material, have them discuss what characteristics and traits are necessary to have strong and successful armed forces. Use an instructional strategy such as Step Inside (Canadian Version) with some of the media above to help students imagine the range of experiences veterans may have and the kinds of behavior and sacrifices we honor them for. Consider having students write cards for a local veterans’ organization to distribute or communicating their appreciation through social media. Share your students’ sentiments using #CelebrateWithDE on social media!
